Head out of Manuel Antonio to a remote village just 25 minutes into the mountains. This stunning 5km hike begins with a steady 1.5km climb on an old country road and boasts incredible views of the Manuel Antonio Pacific coastline. Once making it to the top, we descend into private property on a single-track trail surrounded by primary rainforest. Enjoy solitude on this very off the beaten path trail. Keep your eyes and ears open for toucans, agoutis, coatimundis, and more. Hike all the way to the Naranjo River and enjoy a dip in the waterfall to cool off. After the river, we visit our friend Doña Luz for an authentic interactive cooking experience in her cozy home. Learn to make tortillas and get to know Luz and her family. Note: The initial climb can be strenuous in the heat so please be prepared. Suggested for children aged 10 and upwards.

This by far was the best tour I have ever taken. My guide Caesar was incredible. He was knowledgeable. He was funny and he was patient. He prepared a romantic pineapple treat when we were at the waterfall and he was very courteous the whole day. We really enjoyed our team with him. What made the day even more special was meeting the family who made us lunch and allowed us onto their property. Wife cried when she left because we felt like we were leaving family behind. The meal was absolutely incredible and I am forever changed by the tour.

Our Luna Vida Adventures chocolate-making experience was absolutely wonderful and deeply memorable. Cara Naylor was amazing — she explained the chocolate-making process with such knowledge, care, and genuine love for the craft. You could feel her passion in every detail, and we learned so much along the way. Alberto was fantastic from start to finish. He safely drove us to the experience and went above and beyond to help my 79-year-old mother navigate down to the falls with patience and kindness. His care made the entire day feel comfortable and stress-free. The experience was beautifully rounded out by a delicious, lovingly prepared meal by Doña Luz, which felt like a true gift and a perfect way to end the day. This was more than a tour — it was a heartfelt, human experience. I highly recommend Luna Vida Adventures to anyone looking for something authentic, thoughtful, and truly special.

We did the chocolate making experience with the waterfall swim and local lunch. It was amazing. Alberto was a great guide in the river. Cara was so welcoming and informative during the chocolate making. And the local handmade tortillas and Casado was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this experience.
